The Freeform Minimalism series features intuitive, non-representative spontaneous single line drawings. The process is rooted in Surrealism and Automatic Drawing, allowing the unconscious mind to take the lead without reliance on mental directives, in a non-representational way, while keeping to the purity, clarity and simplicity of Bauhaus and Minimalist design, but with a broader colour pallet and looser lines and shapes.
Each new work is approached in a state of stillness, focusing on a positive intention. A graffiti pen on paper (Perspex or canvas) carries a continuous fluid line. The compositional decision to catch the moment of completion is intuitive, and accidental enclosures or boundary lines may ask to be coloured, or not. A title reveals itself when the work is done, but makes allowance for viewers to see what they want to see in the content.
These works are all on paper of differing size, and are sold ready to hang in a solid wood minimal style frame with glass.
