Overcome is a series that plays on a dual meaning of the word in response to overwhelming circumstances.  Are we overcome by our fears during this pandemic, or have we overcome them?  Painted during the initial stages of lockdown, grey paper provides a sombre backdrop to a neon rush of emotions.  The viewer is invited to consider what we have left when freedom of movement is curtailed, in the form of an active psychological / spiritual life which continues to play out despite physical restrictions.  Overcome reveals an inner cosmos when the outside world is inaccessible, exploring how our perception, rather than physical circumstances, can either liberate or imprison us.  These works are all on paper sized 11.7" x 8.3", and are sold ready to hang in a solid wood minimal style frame with glass.
